Location: Study Room 2

October is Family History Month!

If you have seen the TV shows such as “Who Do You Think You Are?,” “Genealogy Roadshow” or “Finding Your Roots,” you may have wondered about your family history. The library will be offering a 4-part course in starting your family research. Come to all 4 classes, or just the ones of interest to you. We will emphasize the online resources available at the library and other materials and websites available for free. The classes are lecture/demonstration format. The classes are very informal with questions encouraged. Everyone has a story, come and learn how to find your story!

Family History Class 4: Family Search and other free sites

Beyond the library subscriptions there are a number of free sites on the internet. We will look at searching and using FamilySearch.org, one of the largest free resources available for family research.
